In the KS1 class, the children loved listening to Amanda’s story.

In Upper Key Stage 2, the pupils enjoyed exploring the characters and what other possible adventures they could get up to.

I thought Amanda’s message of “What if?” was a great idea for children who are stuck when putting pen to paper. The children enjoyed looking at the books and joining in the rhyme.’

2nd Cavendish Rainbows & 43rd Ipswich Brownies.

‘While we were on lockdown, our Rainbows & Brownies were able to meet virtually on Zoom. One evening, local author Amanda Kidd joined us on Zoom, to help the Brownies with their Jobs Badge. The girls interviewed Amanda and found out how she became a children’s author. They had a wonderfully inspiring evening with her.

Amanda is lovely, she is very engaging and friendly and she encouraged the girls to feel like they could follow their dreams to get the job they want when they are older. They loved the story she wrote for them and one of the Rainbows was delighted that her name features in Amanda’s books.

Amanda’s books are beautifully written and illustrated, and are wonderful for sharing together.’

‘Ms. Kidd is amazing with kids and her storytelling works wonders. She immediately answered my plea to meet our school virtually and together we prepared activities for Kindergarten, years 1,2, and 3 (3-7-year-olds). Not only is she an impeccable author, but her way of retelling the story is fantastic. The kids were really engaged throughout the storytelling. Ms. Kidd made use of various open-ended questions which helped the kids to get more creative. Some classes also tried out the suggested recipe in ‘Ellie and the Cupcakes’! Thumbs up!’
